Security Configuration - First Time Installation
On the Security Configuration tab you select your preferred method for assigning secure access to Risk Manager. For the first time install using as an Enterprise system, you should use the settings as illustrated in the diagram. After you have successfully connected with a client you should revisit “Part B” of this step and set the security to the mode you wish to use.
- (First Time Install) For the first time install, we will assign the application to use internal user name and password verification. By default the system should install with "always use selected group", with the group set to "Administrator". This is ok for single user, or initial testing of the installation - as it assumes that any user granted access to the application has the rights defined in the selected group. Alternatively you can set it initially to use local application managed security, which is the setting we are illustrating here. Either setting is ok, until you have tested that a client can connect. After that you should make a formal decision about the security model you want to use. We revisit this topic later in the install.
