Uninstall prior BPC RiskManager version
BPC RiskManager Installation Step 3 -
Uninstall prior version of Risk Manager Enterprise
If you used the installer to put your previous version of BPC RiskManager on your computer, you can uninstall by running the uninstaller from "Add or Remove Programs", available on the control panel.
Strictly speaking uninstallation is not required as multiple versions of BPC RiskManager can co-exist on your computers. You might want to consider the following factors in deciding whether to uninstall a previous version:
- Unless you have a specific reason for preserving earlier versions uninstallation is the cleanest and safest approach. Each version of BPC RiskManager will install into a different directory.
- If you are upgrading from one BPC RIskManager V5 or BPC RiskManager Express, you should probably keep your earlier version on the application server until you are satisfied that BPC RiskManager V6+ is working correctly with your data. BPC RiskManager Express, V5 & V6 can both operate and exist side by side.
- If you are upgrading from BPC RiskManager V6.0 through V6.18 it is probably easier to uninstall as the new RM dataserver will replace the previous version (all other components will coexist however. The Midas libraries have been upgraded which may cause intermittent failure of earlier releases.
- If you are upgrading from BPC RiskManager V6.18 through V6.2.5.6 (or later) the automated installer will take care of everything for you. If you want to uninstall earlier versions, you can.
